        Description: Founded in 1993, the High Museum Atlanta Wine Auction is the single largest fundraising event for the High Museum of Art. Each year, it is one of the top charity fundraising events in Atlanta and continues to remain within the top five charity wine auctions in the United States. The funds generated by the Wine Auction, which amount to more than $14 million over the last 16 years and $2.1 million in 2008 alone, are a significant contribution to the Museum’s acquisitions, exhibitions and educational programming.

Stone Mountain Easter Sunrise Service

        Description: No matter what your beliefs, you'll probably find some sort of inspiration at this Easter event on top of the mountain. If the message doesn't move you, then seeing the sun come up over the granite mountain should. Once the sky is filled with daylight, take in a view of the Atlanta skyline and the natural surroundings of Stone Mountain Park. You'll also get a sense of accomplishment from climbing the mountain, but if that’s not your style, a concurrent service happens on Memorial Lawn at the base of the mountain. Since the event is popular, allow an extra hour or so to make sure you arrive for the 6:15am services. The park and Summit Skyride open at 4am.

Druid Hills Home and Garden Tour

        Description: This home tour allows folks to get up close and personal with one of Atlanta's more noteworthy neighborhoods. The homes of Druid Hills are known for their grace and beauty, and many were designed by the same man who designed the layout of Central Park. Tours of the area, which run just under two hours, offer a view of the grand homes as well as additional information about several properties in the area.

Atlanta Dogwood Festival

        Description: After last year's drought caused the festival to be held at Lenox Square, the event moves back to Piedmont Park for 2009. The park's expansive grounds are certainly better suited for this festival, which is known for its artists' market. There will also be work on display by local high school students, as well as live music, kids' activities, and a food court offering favorites like funnel cakes and onion rings.
