First Saturday events typically take on seasonal dimensions: May brings the Fine Arts Festival; October, Oktoberfest; November, the Seafood Festival; and December, Christmas on the River. A great series of activities for the whole family.

        Description: From acoustic folk to zydeco, this music festival has everything to please lovers of all genres, and as the largest musical arts festival in the state, it attracts a crowd. Held over 17 days, the performances often feature unexpected collaboration as students and masters join together with talented vocalists or dancers to set each stage on fire with exuberant aural revelry. Venues include the Charles H. Morris Center

        Description: This weekend of self-guided walking tours is among the best ways to gain an intimate knowledge of Savannah's beautiful Historic District, as each highlights four to six homes and gardens. Traditionally, tours are held during the last weekend in March. Advanced tickets are recommended; the tour headquarters is located at the Christ Church Parish House adjacent to Reynolds Square.

Sidewalk Arts Festival

It transforms Forsyth Park with chalk drawings and sidewalk masterpieces created by children and students and alumni of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Stroll through eight private gardens and the Massie Heritage Center which has been carefully restored and maintained by the Garden Club of Savannah. You'll want to make time for a proper Southern tea with plenty of iced sweetened tea, cookies and sandwiches in the garden of the Harper Fowlkes House.
