        Description: LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN. See the view from Lookout Mountain by traveling "America's Most Amazing Mile." This incline railway is the steepest in the world – at the top, the grade is 72.7%. There is an observation deck at the upper station that offers the highest viewing point on the mountain. You can also examine the railways cogs and gears in the machine room. Before your trip down, stop at the snack bar for a comforting nibble and be sure to buy a souvenir at the gift shop.

        Description: DOWNTOWN. What was once an abandoned shipping yard has been transformed into a beautiful 7-acre oasis in downtown Chattanooga. Take a ride on the vintage carousel – rescued after years of storage in a warehouse and revitalized by students who trained with well-known wood sculptor Bud Ellis – or simply enjoy a picnic on the grassy slopes. From April through October, a fountain cools down the kiddies and their folks, and the pavilion frequently hosts concerts.

The ship has three decks, so you can view the passing scenery from a variety of vantages.

Walnut Street Bridge

        Description: DOWNTOWN. This bridge was first erected in 1890 to connect downtown Chattanooga with the neighborhoods on the North Shore. The bridge fell into disrepair but has been refurbished and converted into a pedestrian walkway – the longest in the world at a length of ½ mile. Stroll the bridge on a clear day and you can see Coolidge Park and the Tennessee Aquarium.
