Description:
ALTOONA. A tad removed from the more high-profile dining scenes in Eau Claire, Draganetti's has been an Eau Claire-area tradition for more than half a decade now. Indeed, the Draganowski family got their start in the early 50s, when they used an old family recipe for homemade pizzas to make a name for themselves. Featured entrees include eggplant parmigano, mushrooms all formaggio, and veal picatta. Outdoor seating is available during the warmer months. Reservations are accepted. |

428 Water St, Eau Claire 54703 715-839-8969 |

Description:
WATER STREET HISTORIC DISTRICT. This upscale restaurant has made a fine name for itself thanks to its contemporary Italian fare and urbane setting. Large picture windows offer diners clear views of bustling Water Street, hardwood floors and exposed red brick walls preserve a bit of the building's original charm, and local artwork and cozy fireside lounge areas give the place a distinctly uptown feel. And then there's the menu, whose Italian and Mediterranean-influenced dishes have been earning high marks for years, highlighted by P.E.I. mussels with pesto, grilled swordfish with a Mediterranean marinade, and Balsamic chicken with sun-dried tomatoes and Kalamata olives. Reservations are encouraged. |

208 S Barstow St, Eau Claire 54701 715-832-8844 |
 |
| |
Description:
DOWNTOWN. One of Eau Claire's most popular pizza places is in a beautifully-renovated building whose interior features exposed red brick walls and a high gray-colored pressed-tin ceiling. The kitchen serves up a dizzying array of pies, from the Fantasy Island (marinated chicken, pineapple, and island sauce) to The Tuesday Night Special (a 19" behemoth topped however you want). They also prepare wings, burgers, and pasta dishes. A word to the wise, food here always goes down better with a cold glass of 1919 Root beer. |
